The role

You will be responsible for the delivery of media planning and buying across your team, ensuring all work delivered is to our agency standards, meets the client’s needs and addresses their business problems. You will achieve this through managing and inspiring your team, they will want to do their best work for you and themselves. You will lead idea generation, and work with our CSO to ensure that our ideas and work truly bring media and creative together.

As a part of a growing agency you will play an important role in new business pitches, approaching these with both a strategic and commercial mindset. You will also play an integral role in shaping how we grow as an agency; you will be a part of the shadow board team and run workstreams to continually bring in new initiatives to improve how we work. Responsible for…

• Leading client accounts within the agency, with overall responsibility for the client agency relationship, and growth of client accounts.
• Directing the strategic planning and buying of media, presenting and selling plans effectively to clients.
• Where the strategic planning is done in collaboration with a roster of agencies you will lead to ensure integrated work is delivered for the client.
• Identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities with existing and future agency
• clients.
• Manage and monitor and profitability of client accounts, regularly review our performance and start
• negotiations of revising client fees with marketing directors if necessary.
• Work with trading teams to ensure we are buying efficiently across the agency and driving value for money on behalf of clients.
• Maintaining strong relationships with media owners and ensuring up-to-date knowledge of new developments and media opportunities.
• Building and maintaining positive, cooperative working relationships with other roster agencies, especially in relation to planning campaigns and media strategies.
• Maintaining a detailed awareness of relevant media research and market trends affecting their
• accounts, and developments in the wider advertising and communications industry.
• Managing the work, performance and professional development of team members.
• Reporting key financial and team data to the agency’s senior leadership for resource and capacity planning.

• Commercially astute.
• Effective negotiators, both as service providers and buyers.
• Decisive and able to build support for their decisions.
• Well informed about trends in media research, technological developments and how these translate into new opportunities for clients.
• Knowledgeable about their client’s business and market, and how media strategy contributes to success.
• Responsible and accountable their own and others’ work, delegating effectively to balance a varied and demanding workload.
• Focused on the personal and professional development of their team.
